STEVEN M. SILVERSTEIN

Steven M. Silverstein, the founder and president of Silverstein Law P.C., concentrates his practice in the following areas:

  • transactions involving the formation, acquisition, operation, financing and dissolution of businesses and joint ventures;
  • the acquisition, construction, sale, leasing, joint venturing and financing of commercial, multi-family and industrial real estate; and
  • the preparation and negotiation of contracts required throughout the life cycle of a business or real estate venture, such as partnership, shareholder and operating agreements, employment and contractor agreements, and distribution and marketing agreements.

In addition to the above areas of practice, Steve represents numerous condominium and homeowner associations in connection with all aspects of their operation and advises clients in connection with their estate planning. Steve is admitted to practice in New Jersey (1981) and New York (1985) and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University (1978) and a law degree from the New York University School of Law (1981).   

He began his legal career as a corporate associate with Shanley & Fisher, a prominent New Jersey firm (since merged with Drinker Biddle & Reath). While at Shanley & Fisher, in addition to representing clients in a variety of real estate and business transactions, he represented the New Jersey Economic Development Authority in connection with industrial development bond financing and represented a variety of lenders in connection with small business administration (SBA) and other business loans.

Steve is active in community affairs. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Nyack Hospital, has been a member of the Board of Directors of the JCC Rockland since 1996 and has served on the Board of Directors and as a Vice President of the Rockland Jewish Community Center Campus. In addition, he is a long-standing member of the New City Rotary Club and, for many years, has overseen the club’s participation in the local Meals on Wheels program. Formerly, he also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Jawonio, a premiere provider of lifespan services in the Hudson Valley for people with disabilities and special needs.

For his contributions to the community, Steve has received the JCC Rockland’s Community Service Award and been named a “Paul Harris Fellow” by the New City Rotary.
